I’m a firm believer in investing in quality beauty products, believe me. I have several go-to’s that I can’t imagine my life without. However, there’s definitely a balance! You don’t have to own all top of the line beauty products, because honestly, some drug store products are just as good and much less expensive. I find that most often I end up mixing a few drug store brands and some name brand products into my every day routine. But today’s post is all about the drugstore products that I’ve come to love over the years! Here are all my tried and true products that won’t break the bank!
Finding a good liquid lipstick has been my mission for a looong time. My biggest issue with most brands is that it makes my lips feel so dry! It’s like a freaking desert. And my lips always crack when they get even the tiniest bit too dry, so I’m super picky about what I put on them. I also want something that lasts though! I don’t mind an occasional reapplication, but I don’t want to worry about all of my lipstick coming off after three sips through a straw or a few bites of feed (or a kiss for my husband haha). I found this Wet N Wild lipstick completely by chance when Tyler and I went away for a weekend and all of my makeup got left behind at the house… I had to make due with anything I could find at Target and this was one! It’s basically the best drugstore lipstick I’ve ever tried and I know own several shades. My two favorites right now are Nudist peach (left) and Rebel Rose (right).
This has been my go to eye brow pencil for over a year now! Before I found this, I had been using the Brow Wiz, which is a super popular product. I really liked the Brow Wiz and definitely have no complaints, but in my opinion, the Maybelline eye brow pencil does the job just as good for more than half the cost! I use the color Soft Brown and it’s the perfect shade!
This is my go to every day concealer for everything except under eye! For that I need my handy dandy Shape Tape because my dark circles are DARK haha. On work days I usually just use this to cover any blemishes and redness I have and leave it at that! No need for foundation cause this stuff actually stays put pretty well. Right now I’ve been using the shade Light!
My favorite drug store blush! This blush has such pretty pigment for a drugstore product. I also love that the blush itself is pressed into a rose shape when you first get it! It also lasts sooo long. I’ve had the same one for over a year, which is amazing.
This stuff is great! I feel like it really helps keep any shine down in my t-zone and helps my makeup stay a lot longer. It also has a little bit of color to it, so it gives you just a hint more coverage and a nice even tone! I use the light-medium color and it usually lasts several months.
This duo was my first time trying a mascara and primer, so I can’t really speak to how it compares to all the name brand options, but I can say that I notice a huge difference when I use the primer. My lashes seem fuller, longer, and darker! I used to feel the need to curl my lashes in order to get that extra length, but this mascara and primer combo really does enough to help my lashes out without needing to curl them! Plus, the extra step really doesn’t add much time to my routine because I find myself putting less coats of the mascara on if I used the primer first!
